O que é um final feliz? O que realmente importa quando recontamos histórias que ouvimos? Dar cor e luz para detalhes, entalhar palavras para alcançar emoções que sentimos quando, através de outras narrativas, podemos trocar nossas peles.

Durante nossa passagem com oficinas para profissionais de saúde nos hospitais do Rio de Janeiro em 2010, ouvimos muitas histórias. Uma delas, na colônia de hanseníase, me capturou. É ela que conto.

Um convite para vestir outros mundos, não para ser outro. Apenas para dar mais espaço ao que somos.

O guarda descia a rua, apito na boca, sopro após sopro, anunciando o toque de recolher aos pacientes. Na rua ao lado, adiantados no passo, Tonhão e Salsicha costuravam conversas fingidas para alcançar sem suspeitas a casa de Dona Tetê . Assovio era campainha e a noticia corria afoita casa adentro: Seu Mineirão vinha pelo beco do córrego para uma nova revista. Dona Tetê abaixou a escada embutida no teto, caminho para o esconderijo no forro. Sonia subiu nos braços da tia que a mantinha quieta neste pequeno cômodo graças às chupetas com açúcar.

A barriga de Seu Mineirão adentrava a casa antes de tudo. Depois vinham seus bigodes e as mãos gordas. Ele se movimentava como quem cheirasse os sãos. Pressentia esconderijos: batia com seu cassetete no teto a procura dos lamentos de Sonia. Quando a encontrava fazia com que partisse da colônia no carro da polícia, os choros de Dona Tetê a molhar os rastros de poeira da estrada. O tempo corria e Dona Tetê voltava com Sonia por caminhos esquecidos.

Sonia cresceu nestas idas e vindas. Dos dois aos seis anos, quando ela também desenvolveu a doença e pode ficar: internação compulsória. Do esconderijo fez a casa de suas bonecas. La passava horas nos cuidados maternos de alimentar, vestir e ninar. Quando as bonecas dormiam gastava seu tempo espiando pela pequena janela do sótão a marcenaria do Seu João. Ele fazia os caixões para a colônia. Gostava de ver os carinhos dele com as madeiras. As cortava com cuidado da tesoura na seda. Tirava suas medidas com zelos de alfaiate. Gostava de ver os panos que forravam as madeiras: veludo roxo, metragem em abundancia, tecido fino de festa pronto para assentar as formas. Volta e meia entrava alguém fazendo encomenda às pressas. Seu João afundava na noite cuidando de colocar o pedido no tempo devido. Sonia nunca pensava nos trabalhos de Seu João como morada dos mortos. Ao contrario, via no empenho de suas mãos carinhos com a vida. Como quem afaga os filhos que dormem, Seu João exaltava a vida construindo caixas que guardavam mistérios.

Sonia sempre passava pelo cemitério para alcançar a escola. Uma vez , no segundo ano , a professora pediu a todos que escrevessem cartas para serem levadas aos túmulos . Todos tinham algum parente, próximo ou distante, a quem mandar noticias. No recreio depositavam suas cartas com letras que ainda engatinhavam. Sonia tinha um envelope para cada lapide : verde para tia Aninha , rosa para Vó Luiza , azul para primo Olavo. As noticias escritas eram as mesmas: estamos bem, como banana no café da manhã e lentilhas no jantar. Sei que em breve jantaremos juntos, mamãe disse que irá preparar carne assada para comemorar.

As cartas ficavam ali rodopiando ao vento, desbotavam ao sol, desmanchavam com as chuvas. Era o tempo a esperar que o destino de Sonia se cumprisse. Em vez do veludo roxo, tinha pedido ao seu João panos vermelhos, sempre em abundancia e com carinhos de
