Não é simples dar linguagem ao trabalho do palhaço no hospital. Cada tentativa é bem vinda, principalmente quando quem fala é o próprio artista. Através de Fernando Terra esta voz se torna dilatada. Com experiência em atuar no Brasil, Itália e Portugal ele nos convida a entrar na lógica do palhaço através de seu diário de experiências e reflexões. “Quando decidi escrever “O Dr. Palhaço” eu estava em Roma, onde existem inúmeros grupos de palhaços de hospital. Com alguns eu colaborei como formador e com outros como Dr. Tuffo.
Já em Portugal, quando iniciei a minha carreira como um Dr. Palhaço, notava alguma falta de informação do público a respeito dessa profissão nova, pela qual me apaixonei.
Muitos pré-conceitos e muitas dúvidas.
De todos os trabalhos artísticos, talvez seja o único que não temos prazer e nem desejo em convidar para virem nos assistir, por razões óbvias.
Sendo que somente os doentes e seus parentes tinham uma noção mais completa do nosso trabalho.
O livro veio como uma proposta de levar ao público – que na sua maioria nos tem apenas no seu imaginário – informações relativas a nossa formação e forma de trabalho.
O Dr. Palhaço, numa primeira parte, é composto por momentos da minha trajetória de artista de palcos para artista de quartos de hospital. Num segundo momento, o livro convida o leitor a passar um dia inteiro dentro da cabeça de um palhaço que, juntamente com sua colega, adentra um hospital com a missão de levar alegria aos pacientes, acompanhantes e profissionais de saúde que ali estão.
Uma viagem onde o trem é a imaginação e as estações são emoções e momentos que ora nos fazem rir e ora nos fazem chorar.
Tudo com base na realidade vivida por mim e por meus colegas nos hospitais de Portugal e da Itália.”
