The lecture of the 19th for the people interested in the Madalegria program was a challenge. It’s always, for me, public speaking. We get in front of a stage, microphone in hand, counting 20 years of history. Me and Thais Ferrara, my clown partner in these presentations, 40 years of stories with clowns joining our stories. And always the question: what’s really important to be said? How to get to the last seat, in the last row and speak to the soul of those young guys, tired of day, about to leave for a good nap?
I cling to it in the good words of Nietzsche, who says that for more than a man in extending their knowledge, however objective, it may seem himself, finally, it will take nothing except his autobiography. It is relying on it that I putted my mind in a more comfortable place and found these students. I descended the pulpit, told my story, everyday words and more intimate stories coming out of my mouth. And maybe, just maybe, from this place, something essential may have arisen.
Two questions were important to me at this meeting: How to encourage these young people to think what is their desire for such a project? How can they take advantage of the experience of going to the hospital dressed clown in their training as future health professionals?
These are questions to which I do not expect immediate answers. Follow with the questions already is a good way to seek paths. And expect a word spoken in a certain way, just in the position of chair of the listener, be an inspiration, who knows. Who knows.
